Information on Albuquerque's Development and Historic Resources

Landmarks and Urban Conservation Commission – Composed of seven Albuquerqueans appointed by mayors and confirmed by city councils, this commission's main activity is deciding on the appropriateness of proposed alterations of city landmarks and structures in historic overlay zones.

State Register of Cultural Properties and National Register of Historic Places – The City uses federal grant funds to register local historic places so their value is recognized and their preservation made more feasible and likely under preservation rules and financial incentives. The historic preservation planner for the Planning Department is Maryellen Hennessy, 505-924-3891.
