The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is hosting a Magnificent Seven Dollar adoption drive to find loving homes for adult pets that are at least 1 year old. Animal Welfare will launch the event on Friday, Oct. 18, through Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Eastside, Westside, and Lucky Paws locations. Papa Murphy’s will furnish a free large pizza coupon with every pet adoption. People will be able to meet the pets and talk to an adoption councilor to get assistance in finding the pet that will fit their family.

During the event, Animal Welfare will reduce the fee that is typically charged for adopting pets, while keeping all other adoption policies in place, including thorough match-making procedures.

In the past 12 months, 23,000 pets have arrived at city animal shelters.
