Pioneers of the world music scene in Albuquerque - Goddess of Arno has been performing, teaching, & studying Balkan folk music for over 30 years. This award-winning 5-6 piece ensemble accompanies beautiful solo & multi-part vocals with traditional ethnic string and percussion instruments as well as violin, guitar, saxophone, and electric bass. The band weaves the exotic rhythms and scales, which the southern Balkans absorbed from the Ottoman Empire, together with the passion of the Rom music, which offers opportunities for instrumental improvisation. In 2002, Goddess of Arno released its award-winning CD:Balkan Dance Party!

Formed in May 2011, the band's ("Little Hawk") debut was at the Rio Rancho Summer in the Park Series in Rio Rancho, NM. The focus and style of the six man group is "Classic Rock" which includes the likes of Carlos Santana, Grand Funk Railroad, The Rolling Stones, and Neil Young to mention a few. Affilliated with Midgy Moo Music, LLC the group is currently in the studio working on their first project called 'First Flight.' It will include originals written and arranged by Usti Towadi, David Siddoway, and Matt Tuttle and other members of the group, along with a cover of Neil Young's - "Rocking in the Free World."
