Historic Old Town is the site of for all day celebration
Old Town Plaza and the Gazebo will be the site for an opening news conference at 10 a.m. that will kick-off a day-long celebration of the rich Hispanic heritage that helps to define New Mexico.
10 - 10:30 a.m. National Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-off and Press Conference Members of the Hispanic Heritage Committee, along with the City of Albuquerque, community organizations and honored guests, will start the celebration.
10:30 - 10:45 a.m. Poet Laureate Levi Romero
10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Community Awards and Keynote Speakers
11:45 a.m. - Noon Festival Ballet of Albuquerque and Patricia Dickinson
Noon - 1:30 p.m. New Mexican Marimba Band
1:30 - 3 p.m. Mariachi Nuevo Mexico
3 - 4 p.m. Havana Son
4 - 5 p.m. Latin American Band Encuentro
5 - 6 p.m. Folklórico Fiesta Mexicana
6 p.m. Ivon Ulibarri and Cafe Mocha
